Congratulations to this Week’s Champions of Care!

This program is designed to recognize employees who go above and beyond their day-to-day duties, and who exemplify Circle of Care’s values.

Note: New nominations will be posted on Mondays.

Nominations can be submitted in one of two ways:

  • Clients/Family Members: Compliments from clients or family members that are received through the call centre or a manager will be entered as a nomination provided there is enough detail to do so.
  • Managers: A manager can recognize someone for one of the following reasons:
  1. Recognizing that an employee has taken initiative to support, assist or lead a project or difficult task.
  2. The employee has made an extra effort was reflected in their overall performance.
  3. The person has actively demonstrated one of Circle of Care’s values.

“A special thank you to Patricia Flinn for all the time and effort she puts in to training, supporting and coaching new clerical volunteers in the volunteer department. We currently have two new volunteers who are needing Canadian workplace experience. Patricia’s patience and willingness to assist them while still ensuring it is a positive and productive experience for our department is appreciated.”

“I would like to recommend that Donna Brazeau and Soula Berdoussis be given commendations. They both drive clients very early in the morning and are very helpful, caring, and concerned. They are both lovely women. Donna and Soula are very accommodating given the time they have to get up in the morning and assist clients. It is much appreciated.”

“Diana Nazarov picked up a Social Work case that required a simple referral. Diana was not able to reach the client and conducted an unannounced home visit. When Diana arrived, the client was in distress. Diana jumped into action, contacting several members of the client’s care team within minutes and ultimately ensuring that the client was attended to. During her work on this case, Diana simultaneously took another high risk client to visit a LTC home so that his crisis application could be completed. Diana went above and beyond to provide tremendous care to both of these clients. Well done Diana!”

“I would like to commend Kristina Mendoza for her excellent work over the past 4 months! Kristina took over a new caseload in July 2019 and has done a great job managing the very difficult caseload. She has used a systematic approach to help improve service coordination. Kristina is very client-centred and tries her best create ideal schedules for each of her clients. When faced with a challenging situation Kristina goes above and beyond to ensure that the client’s needs are always met. Bravo Kristina!”
