Please take the following steps to help stay safe and cool:<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"713\" data-end=\"769\"><strong data-start=\"720\" data-end=\"769\">Heat Safety Tips for Working in the Community<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul data-start=\"770\" data-end=\"1671\">\n<li data-start=\"770\" data-end=\"877\">\n<p data-start=\"772\" data-end=\"877\"><strong data-start=\"772\" data-end=\"789\">Stay Hydrated<\/strong> \u2013 Carry a refillable water bottle and drink frequently, even if you don\u2019t feel thirsty.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"878\" data-end=\"958\">\n<p data-start=\"880\" data-end=\"958\"><strong data-start=\"880\" data-end=\"895\">Dress Smart<\/strong> \u2013 Wear light-coloured, breathable, and loose-fitting clothing.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"959\" data-end=\"1082\">\n<p data-start=\"961\" data-end=\"1082\"><strong data-start=\"961\" data-end=\"976\">Take Breaks<\/strong> \u2013 Find cool or shaded areas between visits when possible. Sit down and rest if you\u2019re feeling overheated.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1083\" data-end=\"1210\">\n<p data-start=\"1085\" data-end=\"1210\"><strong data-start=\"1085\" data-end=\"1107\">Avoid Overexertion<\/strong> \u2013 Pace yourself when walking or climbing stairs, especially during peak heat hours (11 a.m. \u2013 3 p.m.).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1211\" data-end=\"1300\">\n<p data-start=\"1213\" data-end=\"1300\"><strong data-start=\"1213\" data-end=\"1234\">Use Cooling Items<\/strong> \u2013 Consider carrying a portable fan, damp cloth, or cooling towel.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1301\" data-end=\"1483\">\n<p data-start=\"1303\" data-end=\"1483\"><strong data-start=\"1303\" data-end=\"1328\">Check the Environment<\/strong> \u2013 If a client\u2019s home is particularly warm or lacks ventilation, and you have concerns for their safety or yours, please inform your supervisor right away.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1484\" data-end=\"1671\">\n<p data-start=\"1486\" data-end=\"1671\"><strong data-start=\"1486\" data-end=\"1520\">Watch for Signs of Heat Stress<\/strong> \u2013 Dizziness, headache, rapid heartbeat, confusion, nausea, or excessive sweating are warning signs.
