Today, we\u2019re sharing Edith H.\u2019s story. Edith is one of Circle of Care\u2019s union stewards. Edith received her first dose in February and received her second dose more recently.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>How did you feel about getting the COVID vaccine? <\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>I didn\u2019t have any fears about getting vaccinated. I was confident enough about getting the vaccine. This was because I was mostly monitoring other people close to me who have received the vaccination and I came to the conclusion that if I took the vaccine, I wasn\u2019t in any serious danger.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Why did you decide to get vaccinated? <\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>I work in a field where I\u2019m with vulnerable people. If I don\u2019t take care of myself, then how can I take care of them? If I\u2019m not healthy, then I can\u2019t help my clients, I can\u2019t help others because I may infect them. I would not be comfortable with myself if I were to do that to them.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Did you experience any side effects from your vaccination?<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Yes. On my first dose, I had a fever and chills, but I took a Tylenol and after that day I was good. I didn\u2019t experience any side effects on my second dose. Honestly, I was expecting more side effects because of what was posted on social media. But, I only got a fever and chills, which was manageable.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>How did you feel after being vaccinated? <\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>I am as happy as I was before. I still wear my mask wherever I go and I still don\u2019t let myself get too close to others. But, at least now I feel more comfortable to travel.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>What are you looking forward to now that you\u2019ve been vaccinated? <\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>I\u2019m looking forward to seeing my mother as I couldn\u2019t before.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Share Your Story<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Over the next few months we will be sharing vaccination stories from our PSWs.
