In addition to being a month of celebration, Pride Month is also an opportunity to grow your knowledge on how to create inclusive spaces at work and in your community.<\/p>\n

One way that we can create inclusive spaces is to respect the gender identity of others by learning their preferred pronouns and using them.<\/p>\n

There are many pronoun sets that you may hear or see, including \u2013 but not limited to:[\/vc_column_text][image_with_animation image_url=”5414″ image_size=”full” animation_type=”entrance” animation=”Fade In” hover_animation=”none” alignment=”” border_radius=”none” box_shadow=”none” image_loading=”default” max_width=”100%” max_width_mobile=”default”][vc_column_text]Using a person\u2019s preferred pronouns helps validate and affirm who that person is and doesn\u2019t exclude or harm them. Some ways to ensure this are:<\/p>\n

  1. Use a gender neutral pronoun set (they, them, theirs) until you clarify what their preferred pronouns are.<\/li>\n
  2. Don\u2019t be afraid to ask that person what their preferred pronouns are. Most times, people will appreciate your effort to learn what preferred pronouns they use.<\/li>\n
  3. Be actively aware if you\u2019re using a person\u2019s preferred pronouns. If you make a mistake and use the wrong pronouns, try to commit to correcting yourself when referring to them again.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row]\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
