Naloxone is easy to use and small to carry. There are two forms of naloxone that anyone can use without medical training or authorization: prefilled nasal spray and injectable.<\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Two forms of Naloxone:<\/strong><\/h4>\n<ul style=\"text-align: left;\">\n<li>\u00a0Nasal Spray- prefilled devices that spray medication into the nose.<\/li>\n<li>Injectable Medication (solution)- given by injection into a muscle or under the skin.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Recognizing the signs of opioid overdose can save a life. Here are some things to look for:<\/strong><\/h4>\n<ul style=\"text-align: left;\">\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">Small, constricted \u201cpinpoint pupils\u201d<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">Falling asleep or losing consciousness<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">Slow, weak, or no breathing<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">Choking or gurgling sounds<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">Limp body<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">Cold and\/or clammy skin<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">\u00a0Discolored skin (especially in lips and nails)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>What to do if you think someone is overdosing?<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">It may be hard to tell whether a person is high or experiencing an overdose. If you aren\u2019t sure, treat it like an overdose\u2014you could save a life.<br \/>\n1. Call 911 Immediately.<br \/>\n2. Administer naloxone, if available.<br \/>\n3. Try to keep the person awake and breathing.<br \/>\n4. Lay the person on their side to prevent choking.<br \/>\n5. Stay with the person until emergency assistance arrives.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The government of Ontario is providing free Naloxone kits to individuals. Upcoming sessions for both CPR and mask fit have been booked for June and July. Please try to book a date\/time where you do not have client visits scheduled.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">Your schedule will be blocked as \u2018unavailable\u2019 for you to attend the session. You do not need to use your phone to sign into the training.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">You will be paid a total of 4 hours for the training (CPR) and 1 hour for mask fit \u2013 this will be added to your schedule 1-2 weeks after the session has been completed and you will receive payment.
