Action Required: Complete Your Vulnerable Sector Screen (VSS)<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong><em>Please read the entire message.\u00a0\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Dear Personal Support Workers and Homemakers,<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">You must complete a <strong>Vulnerable Sector Screen (VSS)<\/strong>.<\/span> This is a <strong>new<\/strong> requirement, and it is a special criminal background check.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>What is the VSS?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>When you started working at Circle of Care, you did a basic background check.<\/li>\n<li>The VSS goes deeper. It checks for criminal records in local, RCMP, and youth databases.<\/li>\n<li>This is to keep our clients safe. Many healthcare providers use this check.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>Steps to Complete the VSS<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Apply<\/strong>: Go to your local police station (in person or online) and apply for the VSS.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Pay<\/strong>: You pay for the VSS upfront and send your receipt to klucki@circleofcare.com for reimbursement.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Receive Results<\/strong>: You will get your VSS results in about 10 business days. Please send the results to klucki@circleofcare.com within 30 days.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Reimbursement<\/strong>: After you send your results, HR will refund you within 30 days. The refund will show up in your next pay.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3><strong>Need Help Paying for the VSS?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>If you cannot afford to pay for the VSS upfront, contact HR at klucki@circleofcare.com. We can cover the cost and help you with the process.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Fingerprinting<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>If name-based checks don\u2019t confirm your identity, you may need to provide fingerprints. We will also refund you for any fingerprinting costs.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Positive Results<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>HR will review any positive (criminal) results to see if they affect your job. For new employees, you must have a clear VSS result to keep your job offer. Current employees with serious criminal records may face termination.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Already Have a VSS?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>If you completed a VSS in the last 6 months, please send it to klucki@circleofcare.com.
