TIDES Training
(sessions will be held January through March 2026)
What is TIDES?
The Trauma-Informed De-Escalation Education for Safety and Self-Protection (TIDES) program is an award-winning training initiative developed by the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH). It equips health care teams with the knowledge, confidence and practical skills needed to prevent, de-escalate and respond to escalating behaviors and crises. As a fully customizable program, built to suit each organization’s needs, TIDES is grounded in the principles of trauma-informed care, person-centered communication, and collaborative interventions. It offers a hands-on approach to education that prepares staff to prevent and respond effectively in high-risk situations, while prioritizing the safety, dignity and well-being of patients and care providers.
Scheduling notes:
Trainings are VIRTUAL meaning you can log in anywhere from TEAMS on your phone. There are only a select number of in-person sessions available in the office at 4211 Yonge st in the boardroom. Your meeting invitation will be send 1-2 days prior to the training date in your mobile app under the message centre. It will say if your session in person or virtual. The schedule in your app will always have the office address listed even if IT IS NOT in person. If you are unsure please call the office to check if your session is in office or not.
IMPORTANT:
Please wait until 1 day before your training date in your schedule for the mobile message with the login details for TEAMS. You can not choose a date, or change your scheduled date unless there is an emergency. This is because you have been scheduled in a way that ensures we have coverage for our client visits in your area. If too many people are on the same training day from the same area we will not have proper coverage!
