Learn about Upcoming Mask Fit and CPR Sessions
Circle of Care requires that all PSWs and Homemakers be certified with valid and current CPR training, and that employees be properly fitted for N95 masks.
Upcoming sessions for both CPR and mask fit are available. Appointments must be booked through our vendor, First Aid Care, and can be booked online here: https://firstaidcare.ca/circleofcare-firstaidcare-ca/ or by calling 905-272-9214
Important reminders – please read:
- Please arrive at the training session 15 minutes before the class begins.
- After you have booked your appointment, please speak to your Service Coordinator if you need any scheduling arrangements and have clients that you will need to be booked off from to attend the CPR and/or mask fit training. Please try to book a date/time where you do not have client visits scheduled.
- Your schedule will be blocked as ‘unavailable’ for you to attend the session. You do not need to use your phone to sign into the training.
- You will be paid a total of 4 hours for the training (CPR) and 1 hour for mask fit – this will be added to your schedule 1-2 weeks after the session has been completed and you will receive payment. The code will appear on your paystub as ‘Miscellaneous’
- All bookings/cancellations must be managed through the online portal. You will receive a confirmation email/text notification and will also receive a session reminder.

Circle of Care is proud to offer discount tickets to this year’s CNE. Purchase your CNE tickets online with our corporate code and save! CNE Corporate rates are the lowest available. You will save off gate prices and retail partner prices – with savings of up to 44%!
Reminder: Redeem your Applause Points – The new deadline is July 19th
Circle of Care is moving to a new method of recognition for employees and away from the Applause platform. We have extended the deadline to redeem your Applause points until Friday, July 19. This is the last possible extension, and after this date, the points will be lost. You can transfer your point balance onto a single gift card via the Applause Catalogue. If you are not able to log into your Applause account, please contact Human Resources at HRDept@circleofcare.com , 416-635-2900 x267, or 416-270-6376 and we can assist with account re-sets.
For detailed instructions on how to redeem your points, please refer to the video.
Points that are redeemed for a cash gift card (i.e., Visa, MasterCard, Amazon), or over $500 total in value, will be a taxable benefit.
Pay what you can for Psychotherapy Services at TICP
The Toronto Institute for Contemporary Psychoanalysis (TICP) is launching a ‘Pay what you can program’ for in-person psychotherapy sessions with their Student Therapists at their 427 Vaughan Road (North of St. Clair) clinic location. Through this program, TICP is looking to offer weekly, in-person sessions to employees working in the health care sector. While it is recommended that prospective clients pay between $5-$25 per session, they are welcome to pay what they can.

Reminder: Complete the Indigenous Cultural Competency in Healthcare e-learning
All employees are reminded to complete the mandatory 30-minute e-learning module through Dayforce on increasing awareness of historical and current Indigenous culture within the healthcare sector by September 13, 2024. This course is accessible by logging into your Dayforce account and selecting the ‘Learning Tab’. You will receive 30 minutes of paid training for this course, which will be paid out in August after the course has been completed.
Friendly Reminder: No Lift Policy
To ensure the safety of both our clients and Circle of Care representatives, this is a friendly reminder that staff, volunteers, and students are not permitted to lift clients or anything over 5 kg.

Ask Us Anything
When the employee will be eligible for sick leave?
Full-time workers who finish their probationary period get 51 hours of sick leave each year. You can save up to 200 hours. This leave can be used in case of illness or injury, except for those covered by Workers’ Compensation, and will be paid time off. Part-time employees are eligible for limited sick hours. Contract union employees are not eligible for paid sick leave. All employees who are off for more than three days must provide a valid doctor’s note.
Just wondering if we still get free scrubs (CofC uniform). The last time we received our scrubs was 5years ago or so.
Each PSW can request and receive two free sets of scrubs per year.
We invite you to submit your questions or feedback below. Please note that it may take us longer to provide some answers, so if you’ve asked a question that hasn’t been answered yet, we will get back to you in the coming weeks.
