Congratulations to this Week’s Champions of Care!
This program is designed to recognize employees who go above and beyond their day-to-day duties, and who exemplify Circle of Care’s values.
Note: New nominations will be posted on Mondays.
Nominations can be submitted in one of two ways:
- Clients/Family Members: Compliments from clients or family members that are received through the call centre or a manager will be entered as a nomination provided there is enough detail to do so.
- Managers: A manager can recognize someone for one of the following reasons:
- Recognizing that an employee has taken initiative to support, assist or lead a project or difficult task.
- The employee has made an extra effort was reflected in their overall performance.
- The person has actively demonstrated one of Circle of Care’s values.
- “Over the past few months Kai Svirida has displayed such excellence and kindness which are both required to keep our PSWs at peace in the midst of this new normal we have been faced with. I personally am grateful to have her and Vivian on our team. Their quick and timely hand on responses make things so much easier for us all. Thank you.” – Tammyrose Humphrey
- “I am very pleased with my PSW worker Myra Salunga. She goes above and beyond to help me! I am so happy with the services I receive from Circle of Care.” – Client
- “Yana Zveiris provides incredible support to the Holocaust Survivor Services Program in her role as Professional Practice Lead. Since the start of the pandemic, there have been many complex client cases over the past two months that Yana has worked on. Her calm and thoughtful approach, expertise, and healthy perspective are so helpful in mentoring our team, and in problem solving challenging situations. Yana, thank you so much – we are so lucky to have you!” – Alison Kilbourn
- “Nurit Postelnik has worked incredibly hard on multiple challenging client cases over the last few weeks, including supporting clients returning home from hospital, ensuring clients dealing with food insecurity are getting the food they need, and facilitating a hospital admission for a client in crisis. Nurit’s support of our clients and their families has been outstanding, especially given the challenging working environment of the pandemic. Thank you Nurit for your advocacy and hard work on behalf of our clients!” – Alison Kilbourn
- “In these highly unusual times and while transitioning to her new role as Practice Lead, Reeshma Harripersad has provided several hours per day of support to orientate me to my role of Client Services Supervisor. She has been very thorough, knowledgeable, efficient, detail-oriented…did I mention patient with all my questions? She is on a very well-deserved vacation at the moment but she went above and beyond to ensure I have support and feel confident in her absence and made me feel very welcome in Circle of Care.” – Tara Stickwood
- “We have received many compliments for Soula Berdoussis for her driving and her being polite and thoughtful, careful driving, being there on time, looking after the clients, helping them if necessary, and creating a pleasant and peaceful atmosphere for them while driving, so the clients are very happy about their rides. One client who goes to chemotherapy called right from Soula’s car and told me that she wants Soula for all her future rides if possible, because when Soula drives this client enjoys it and doesn’t need to worry.” – Alla Sorokosh
- “I would like to express my utmost gratitude to Margaryta Tsygankova, my mother’s CSS, who is an extremely caring, patient, kind and knowledgeable professional. I have dealt with her regarding my mother on numerous occasions and it was a real pleasure to deal with her. My mother was really pleased when Margaryta used to come to us. I’d like to note that Margaryta has a terrific “bedside manner” with seniors (if this term is applicable to a Client Service Supervisor). Unfortunately, in the time of pandemic, Margaryta can’t personally come to us but she called me several days ago regarding my mother, enquiring about my mother’s health and her needs, and she sounded genuinely interested in her client. Thank you very much, Margaryta!” – Client’s daughter
- “Yesterday when PSW Joan Ellis came to our home, she did everything she needed to do and was pleasant to work with. She did everything just perfectly. She interacted so nicely with Mom and it felt like she was happy to be there, it was just a very pleasant experience.” – Client’s family member
