We are pleased to share that Circle of Care PSWs have started to receive the COVID-19 vaccine!
Kathleen was Circle of Care’s first PSW to be vaccinated against COVID-19. She received her first dose on December 31.
“I feel lucky to have this opportunity so soon. I’ll feel safer,” said Kathleen, the first Circle of Care PSW to be vaccinated. She received the vaccine on December 31. “My clients will be safer, and I will worry less about infecting my family.”
On Tuesday, two additional Circle of Care PSWs received their first dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine at Sunnybrook Hospital. Lolita and Evelyn were both excited and eager to receive the vaccine.
“I’m relieved right now,” said Evelyn. “I wasn’t worried at all about getting the vaccine.”
One week after the first dose, recipients are protected up to 50%. A week after they receive their second dose, they will be protected up to 95%. Six of our PSWs have now received one dose of the COVID vaccine, and we look forward to scheduling more PSWs for vaccination in the coming days and weeks.
