If you haven’t yet had a chance to get your third vaccination dose, please register for a booster shot now.
As I am sure you are aware, we are now seeing a sharp rise in the daily number of new cases of COVID-19 in Ontario. This is especially concerning as more and more cases are due to the highly transmissible Omicron variant. We believe there is a genuine risk that we are entering a new wave that will be even more disruptive and difficult for all of us than previous waves.
We want you to be as protected as possible. The most important protection available against the Omicron variant is to get the third dose booster of the COVID-19 vaccine. For those more than six months out from second doses, a third dose gives more than 70 per cent effective protection against the Omicron variant, compared to only the 30 per cent protection from two doses. Health care workers can get third doses right now (no age restrictions), if you’ve received your 2nd dose more than 84 days ago. If you have not already, we ask you to book an appointment through the province’s vaccine portal or at local pharmacies. If you have had your third dose, please inform Human Resources by emailing HRDept@circleofcare.com.
We have learned a great deal about how to protect our clients and ourselves from COVID-19. It is essential to follow our Circle of Care COVID-19 workplace policies and practices to help support our health care system and prevent spread. We ask that you continue to follow the protocols of hand washing, masking and physical distancing. Avoid social gatherings and indoor spaces where possible. If you are feeling unwell, stay home and get tested for COVID-19, even if your symptoms are mild.
