Conflict of Interest Declaration
Every year, Circle of Care is required to update its list of employees whose family members receive Circle of Care services. This includes, but is not limited to: Homemaking and Personal Support, Holocaust Survivor Services, Meals on Wheels, iRIDE and Adult Day Program.
If you have a family member who is receiving Circle of Care services, please notify your CSS with your name, the name of the relative receiving assistance, your relationship to the client, and the type of service/program by Wednesday, January 25.
It is perfectly fine for your family member to receive services from us, but Circle of Care needs to know about all conflicts of interest, to avoid any potential problems from occurring. If you do not let us know about a family member receiving our services, this could result in the loss of services for your relative.
If you have any questions, please review Circle of Care’s Conflict of Interest Policy on the PSW Portal (https://drive.google.com/file/d/1r5rY-SjdPxiQVKG1oAgtd5obAKB5fPKU/view) or contact your CSS directly. Thank you.

Happy Chinese New Year!
Chinese New Year is the festival that celebrates the beginning of a New Year on the traditional lunisolar and solar Chinese calendar. Chinese New Year is one of the most important holidays in Chinese culture, and has strongly influenced Lunar New Year celebrations both in China and in worldwide regions. 2023 is the year of the Rabbit, which is a symbol of longevity, peace and prosperity. Chinese New Year is celebrated starting Sunday, January 22.
Ask Us Anything
How come some PSWs get to work in one building only and they have a car? I take the bus, and I have to travel from client to client. How is this fair, especially since I was at this building before the other worker.
There are many factors that are considered with scheduling. It is not possible to know the exact reason for your particular situation without knowing the caseload you are assigned to. Scheduling decisions like this can be related to PSW availability, performance, changing needs in the retirement home, etc. PSWs are also expected to travel up to 30 minutes between visits whether they are driving or taking transit. We encourage you to reach out to your Coordinator or CSS directly for a specific response about your situation.
Do we still receive the $3 addition from federal to our salary as a PSW?
Thank you for your question. All our PSWs and Homemakers continue to receive a $3 per hour temporary wage increase from the provincial government (Ministry of Health).
