Circle of Care is committed to the prevention of workplace violence and harassment, and to maintaining a violence-free and respectful workplace. As part of our ongoing efforts, we recently completed the 2025 Workplace Violence and Harassment (WVH) Risk Assessment. Thank you to everyone who participated and shared their insights. Your feedback plays a vital role in helping us improve our workplace practices and ensure a safe environment for all employees, students, and volunteers.
Key Highlights from the Results
- Awareness of Incidents: 28% of respondents were aware of an actual or potential workplace violence incident in the past year (a decrease from 35% in 2023).
- Risk Perception: The majority (76%) continue to rate the overall risk of workplace violence as low.
- Comfort Reporting: 96% of respondents said they feel comfortable reporting incidents to their Supervisor or Manager.
- Program Awareness: 98% of employees are aware of our WVH prevention policies and procedures.
What You Told Us
Employees identified daily work activities such as providing personal care, interacting with clients’ families, working alone, and traveling to client homes as areas of increased risk. Your suggestions for improvement included:
- More hands-on and scenario-based training
- Greater awareness and communication around reporting processes
- Continued refresher courses and training
- Clearer Care Plans for clients and increased communication with caregivers
We take your feedback seriously. Every effort has been made and will continue to be made to identify possible sources of violence and ensure effective prevention measures are in place.
As a reminder, for anyone who has not yet completed the annual Workplace Violence and Harassment training, please ensure you complete this prior to September 5, 2025. This course can be accessed via Dayforce Learning.

Incidents of Workplace Violence and/or Harassment should be reported immediately to the office, via your CSS. If you are more comfortable doing so, you may also report to an HR representative or a Union Steward.
