Protect Yourself and Others: Get a Flu Vaccine

The flu can make you very sick. It can make your body weaker, make other health problems worse, and sometimes send you to the hospital.
The flu vaccine is the best protection. It helps prevent you from getting sick. If you do get sick, the vaccine can make your symptoms milder. The vaccine also means fewer doctor visits and hospital stays, especially for young children, older adults, and people with health problems.
Safety Spotlight: WHMIS Survey Results

Circle of Care cares about your health, safety, and well-being. To follow WHMIS (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System) rules, we did a short survey to check how much staff know about hazard symbols and safe work practices.
What We Found from the Survey:
- 94% knew WHMIS symbols help keep staff safe.
- 97% knew the exclamation mark (!) means common hazards.
- 97% picked all the right steps for handling health hazards.
- 82% understood that relying on your memory is not enough.
- 94% knew oxygen tanks must stay away from heat.
WHMIS Safety Tips:
- Always read labels before using products.
- Wear the right personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Tell someone if you see something unsafe.
- Review safety steps—don’t just rely on memory (tap here to review the full WHMIS policy).

Anthonia is very kind and efficient. I truly appreciate the way she provides care.

Ask Us Anything
I am going to a client now who tells me to do things that are not in the care plan, and because the other PSW does everything, I am stuck doing it too. I cannot complain because I need the hours.
You must follow the care plan in place. If time allows, and a safe task within your scope of practice is being requested, then you may proceed. If not, please politely decline and speak to your Client Services Supervisor to see if this task can be added to the care plan for the following visit.
Why is it that the supervisor allows PSWs to go inside the bathtub with some clients? I remember when I was very new to Circle of Care my supervisor told us not to go in the tub with the client because it is dangerous for us and for the client. How come now it’s okay all of a sudden?
This is not okay; you are not permitted to get into the bathtub or shower with a client due to the risk of falling. Please let your Client Services Supervisor know of any safety concerns you encounter.
This delegated exercise is so unfair to do if I am only seeing the client 1 or 2 times a week. The other PSW doesn’t have the proper delegation and they don’t do the exercise and refuse to do it. If that’s the case I will not do any exercises anymore.
Please direct your concerns to your Client Services Supervisor to ensure that the client’s needs are being met, and all required delegations are being completed.
I’ve been working at Circle of Care for 12 years. How come I don’t get a cash reward? But the PSWs who works 5, 10, 20 years get the reward.
Thank you for your 12 years of dedicated service to Circle of Care. We truly appreciate the commitment and care you’ve shown over the years—it’s employees like you who make a real difference in the lives of our clients.
Our service recognition program includes milestone acknowledgements at specific years of service (for example, 5, 10, 15, 20 years, etc.). The cash gifts are part of this program to mark those designated milestones. While the 12-year mark isn’t one of the official milestones, your ongoing contributions are still deeply valued and appreciated. Thank you again for your continued service and dedication to Circle of Care.
