Volunteers Providing Support and Connection to Isolated Clients in Need

Even though our volunteers have had to pull back from visiting clients in our Friendly Visiting program, they have been reaching out to clients through phone calls, asking how they’re doing, and ensuring that they’re safe, healthy, and have the resources they need. We have been able to expand our Phone Pals program to include many of our most isolated clients, allowing them to feel connected and cared for during this challenging time.

Here’s a comment that we received recently from Lori, a client of ours:

“Thank you so much for connecting me with Jennifer. It’s been a really long journey since the beginning of the pandemic, and I really felt assured by not just Jennifer’s expertise, but her friendliness. She herself offered to follow up with me in case I needed groceries at any point during the pandemic. She’s a really lovely woman. I didn’t know that Circle of Care would offer such a program, but you really bent over backwards to provide a solution for me.”

Providing Psychosocial Support in Pandemic Times

As the pandemic continues to have a significant impact on our community, our social workers have been working very hard to provide psychosocial support to our clients and family caregivers.

The pandemic has intensified issues for our clients who are dealing with mental health issues, poverty, homelessness, and abuse. During these times of isolation and quarantine, our social work team is making sure that our clients are well connected to community resources, have access to nutritious food and basic supplies, and are maintaining daily routines.

While our Adult Day Program is temporarily closed, our ADP clients and their caregivers are receiving regular phone calls from our social workers, who are providing them with support and advice.

Our care navigators work tirelessly to ensure safe discharges to the community , which is extremely challenging at this time.

Thank you, Social Work team, for working tirelessly to provide vital support for our most vulnerable population during this stressful time!
