Congratulations to this Week’s Champions of Care!

This program is designed to recognize employees who go above and beyond their day-to-day duties, and who exemplify Circle of Care’s values.

Note: New nominations will be posted on Mondays.

Nominations can be submitted in one of two ways:

  • Clients/Family Members: Compliments from clients or family members that are received through the call centre or a manager will be entered as a nomination provided there is enough detail to do so.
  • Managers: A manager can recognize someone for one of the following reasons:
  1. Recognizing that an employee has taken initiative to support, assist or lead a project or difficult task.
  2. The employee has made an extra effort was reflected in their overall performance.
  3. The person has actively demonstrated one of Circle of Care’s values.
  • “Thank you to iRIDE driver Michael Rutherford for making my day, actually my month, when he dropped off my phone last Saturday! I am so grateful to him for taking the time on his day off to first find out whose phone was left in his car, and second, for delivering it to me! I was so worried about losing all my information and photos that were stored on that phone. I couldn’t sleep. Imagine my delight when he dropped it off! I can’t thank him enough! He really went beyond what was expected and made me extremely happy. Thank you, thank you, thank you!” – iRIDE Client
  • “Since the pandemic was declared, Shirley Dougherty has been diligently coming in to 4211 Yonge, leading the PPE distribution team and ensuring our PSWs are well serviced and receive sufficient PPE to allow them to do their work safely. When faced with challenging situations and concerned PSWs, Shirley listens, is empathetic and always goes above and beyond so that our PSWs receive the attention they deserve.   • “I would like to extend my appreciation for the amazing work that Alla Iularji had done and continues doing to support my mom’s needs. Her prompt responses are always followed by action, and greatly help my mom to remain independent and live in comfort of her home. It also helps me to provide good care for my mom. I particularly want to thank her for helping me to get a new walker for my mom when her old one broke apart. It is her lifeline, and I needed to get it to her as soon as possible. Alla not only gave me all the information I needed, but also called the LHIN which definitely sped up the process.   • “I had to travel to a medical clinic in order to do a very important test. I tried but was not able to keep the liquid down, and was getting frustrated. My iRIDE driver Umberto Micucci spoke with me and persuaded me to get in there and he would wait for me during his lunch. His encouragement made me calm enough to try again. In the end, I wasn’t able to complete the test, but I wanted to thank Umberto for his support and kind words. Thank you Umberto!” – iRIDE Client
  • “Thank you to Edie Weisbrod for going over and above to ensure that I got the extra help I desperately needed for my husband. Edie was extremely calm and delightful to deal with and it made me feel happy to know that she cared and understood my situation.   • “I want to take this time to personally thank Catherine Timm and Laura Rosemblit for working together with one common goal: preparing care packages for ADP clients/caregivers during the pandemic. Catherine and Laura put the packages together within days of my ask. They thoughtfully reviewed the client care plans and put together care packages by purchasing items for each client which added a nice personal touch. In addition, I wish to extend a thank you to Harry Wu in transportation. Upon the packages being completed he was able to arrange delivery within hours of receiving the request. Catherine, Laura and Harry thank you for supporting this initiative and understanding the important value behind the the agency’s value of person centred care.” – Maria Campo
