Congratulations to this Week’s Champions of Care!

This program is designed to recognize employees who go above and beyond their day-to-day duties, and who exemplify Circle of Care’s values.

Note: New nominations will be posted on Mondays.

Nominations can be submitted in one of two ways:

  • Clients/Family Members: Compliments from clients or family members that are received through the call centre or a manager will be entered as a nomination provided there is enough detail to do so.
  • Managers: A manager can recognize someone for one of the following reasons:
  1. Recognizing that an employee has taken initiative to support, assist or lead a project or difficult task.
  2. The employee has made an extra effort was reflected in their overall performance.
  3. The person has actively demonstrated one of Circle of Care’s values.

Congratulations to this week’s Champions of Care nominees:

  • “I had difficult recalling how to do HPG. I called Alex Yarde after work hours and asked for help. She provided an excellent explanation and helped me to do that. Thank you, Alex! You are always very helpful.” – Yulia Ioffe
  • • “In the last two weeks Amin Rajani was covering for my schedule. He went above and beyond his duty and responsibility, and took extra time to clean up all the clients from the to do list for his covered days and even extra. Thank you to Amin for his extra effort to help with proper coverage and the to do tasks.” – Valentina Burman
  • “During the recent building fire, PSW Shan Zhang took extra efforts to help take a bedridden client out to the hallway. She knew that the client had no one to look after her, and she pulled her on a blanket to the emergency staff. Her shift finished at 11 pm, but she stayed to help this until 1 am. She is a real Champion of Care in any situation, but especially through her help during the fire in the building.” – Valentina Burman
  • “PSW Theodros Azene has an overnight shift at 6250 Bathurst. The fire started in the building at 8:30pm, he came at 10:30 pm and helped to take clients out of the building and cover them with blankets. He was assisting clients to the TTC bus shelter and been with clients outside until 2:30 am. When the fire department told him it was safe to go inside, he assisted all night. Despite the elevator not working, he went twice up to the 14th floor to assist a client. He is champion of care with his performance!” – Valentina Burman
  • • “I’d like to give a shoutout and thank you to Dennis Martin for the outstanding ideas that he contributed with regards to our recent holiday activities and party. The majority of the holiday activities that the Social Committee put together were built on Dennis’s ideas, and he introduced features of ZOOM (like breakout rooms) that we could use for our party, and a way for us to play BINGO virtually. Thanks Dennis for your creativity and innovation!” – Michelle Duklas
  • Shira Hershenfeld and Circle of Care have been special angels for my parents during this stressful time. You have helped to keep them safe as possible in their home and have helped alleviate the monetary burden as well.” – Client’s family
