4-Point PPE Reminder
Circle of Care has implemented the use of 4 point PPE for all client visits regardless of their COVID status.
This includes the use of:
- a well fitted surgical/medical mask
- gloves
- a gown
- goggles or a face shield
KN95s to Be Provided in Next PPE Order
You will be receiving a package of KN95’s in your next PPE order. These masks can be worn when working in a retirement home or congregate setting where they are required or if you are scheduled with a COVID caution or COVID-positive client. Please keep in mind that a well fitted medical/surgical mask provides as much or better protection than a KN95 or N95 mask that has not been fit tested.
Ear Savers Will Also Be Provided for You
You are also going to receive an ear saver which can be used with your surgical/medical mask to help provide a more secure fit. Please take some time at home with one of these masks and the ear savers, and/or paper medical tape to see what provides you with the best, most comfortable fit. Should you require additional rolls of paper tape, please indicate this in the comment section when placing your supply orders. Please also indicate the number of isolation gowns that you require in the comment section for all future orders.
Please Request that Your Clients Wear Masks During Your Visit
For all clients and family members who can tolerate mask wearing, we ask that you request for them to wear a mask during your visits. For those who are not receiving please ask that they physically distance, and when possible, that they remain in another room of the home with the door closed. This messaging has been sent to our clients by email (for those clients who have supplied us with their email) and is also posted on our website.
Mask Fit Testing
In the coming weeks we are going to be scheduling all staff to come into the office for Mask Fit Testing. Please be patient as we are prioritizing staff based on the setting they are providing care. We will make sure that all of our client facing staff are tested as soon as possible.
