Client Safety Protocols for COVID Prevention

Earlier this month, we shared messaging with our clients that let them know that we are requesting that clients and their caregivers wear a mask during your visit with them. (We understand that in some cases the client may not be able to tolerate mask wearing, and in those situations it’s okay if they don’t.)

We have also let them know that we suggest keeping a door or window open during your visit to allow for better air circulation throughout the home, which can help to lower the risk of possible infection.

Champions of Care Nominations

Congratulations to this week’s Champions of Care nominees:

  • “PSW Imelda Magbanua is being recognized for her quick reaction and remaining calm in an emergency situation with one of her clients. Imelda found one of her clients on the floor with a visible head injury and bleeding. The client was confused and very weak. Imelda immediately phoned 911 and then reported what was happening to the office. Imelda demonstrated all of Circle of Care’s core values by providing the best person-centred care she could, by calling 911 and providing status updates to the office. She provided assistance to the paramedics when they arrived, and also stayed back to clean up the blood from the floor and wall as well after the client was transferred to the hospital. We are extremely proud of her help to this client and appreciate the great service she provided to our clients! Thank you Imelda!” – Reeshma Harripersad
  • “I am so grateful to have Yana Zveiris as a Team Lead for our program. The past few weeks have been very stressful and overwhelming, and when I shared how discouraged and burnt out I was feeling, Yana was so supportive. Yana encouraged me to keep doing what I am doing, and reminded me of all the work I had accomplished, and also what the other Case Managers have been doing. Yana reminded me to take care of my mental health and provided examples of how I can de-stress while working. Thank you Yana for your kindness and for all of your support!” – Julia Szpytka
  • “Thank you Jessica Collins for working so hard, ensuring that clients have visits met and are receiving the care that they are requesting! I appreciate how Jessica responds to emails and task consoles not only quickly, but also with a level of respect and kindness. Thank you Jessica!” – Julia Szpytka
  • “My iRide driver, Donna Brazeau, is such a lovely person. She took the time to help me in and out of the vehicle. She is also an excellent driver and it was a pleasure to ride with her.” – Client
  • “I am very grateful to Katrina Alves for her help on Thursday April 14. At the end of the day when I finished my work and cleaned up my To Do list I received a report that two of my PSWs tested positive. Both of them should have worked on the Long weekend (Friday, Saturday and Sunday). I was very upset because I was short on PSWs. Katrina worked the evening shift and offered to help me. Immediately, she sent me names of PSWs who had gaps in their schedule and we placed together. Thank you, Katrina! I don’t know how I could’ve found a resolution without your help.” – Yulia Ioffe
  • “I have been dealing with Jessica Collins for the past 4 years and I have never met anyone who has the kind of patience and caring attitude like Jessica has. While dealing with life’s major struggles (parent’s end of life), it is very important that there’s support to help you through these ever changing circumstances. Jessica has been there for us every step of the way to make sure my parent’s needs are met, by connecting the best fit PSWs for my parent’s needs and with the constantly changing scheduling needs due to deterioration of health. Jessica’s patience, understanding and care for our situation is what’s making things easier to manage through these difficult times. I can’t thank Jessica enough for always accommodating our times and requests for particular PSWs, and always being professional. It is an absolute pleasure to deal with Jessica. From the bottom of my heart, thank you so much Jessica and this wonderful organization.” – Client’s daughter
