As the conflict in the Middle East continues and many of you experience distress and worry, we want to emphasize that your wellbeing and safety is our top priority.
We are aware that emotions and opinions are running high, and many, including our clients, may express their thoughts and concerns. Remember that you do not have to engage in potentially distressing discussions but, instead, can simply offer a listening ear if they need comfort.
Should a situation escalate in any way, you should call your Client Service Supervisor or your Service Coordinator immediately. If you feel unsafe or threatened, please do not hesitate to call 911.
Here is a reminder of some of the available resources to support you during these challenging times, both personally and professionally:
- If you are feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or simply need someone to talk to, the Beyond Silence app is available. This app is a mental health ‘coach in your pocket’ for front-line health care employees. The app provides information and support for managing mental health at work, including support for your and support to help co-workers. Click the button below for more information.
- We are a strong, diverse community that is bound by values of empathy, kindness and inclusion – please do not hesitate to reach out to your Client Service Supervisor, Human Resources or the DEI Committee if you have concerns or need support.
- The DEI Committee is actively exploring opportunities to arrange workshops that would help people deal with this difficult and, for many, traumatic situation. Please stay tuned for updates.
In the coming weeks, we will continue to share new information we get to support you.
Remember that we are a team, and together we can navigate these turbulent waters. Our success lies in our collective strength, adaptability, and the support we offer one another.
