The DEI Committee is excited to launch our Indigenous Cultural Competency in Healthcare e-learning initiative, which is being launched to all employees effective today. This training is a requirement for all SPOs under Ontario Health, and as such, we have put together this e-learning module to build capacity and foster knowledge of Indigenous Culture across our agency.

We are asking you all to complete this mandatory 30 minute e-learning module through Dayforce that is focused on increasing awareness of historical and current Indigenous culture and the implications for health care professionals by July 23, 2024. You will be receiving an email notification shortly from Dayforce indicating that you have been enrolled in the course, and the course will be accessible by logging into Dayforce and selecting the ‘Learning Tab’.

The goals of this course are to:
·         Explore the impact of racism within the healthcare system
·         Examine the experiences of Indigenous people in healthcare
·         Comprehend Canada’s multicultural context in healthcare
·         Investigate historical aspects such as Residential Schools and the Survivors Flag
·         Understand the significance of Indigenous Truth & Reconciliation in healthcare

You will  will receive 30 minutes of paid training for this course, which will be paid out in August after the course has completed.

Thank you all in advanced for taking the time to complete this important e-learning course,
