Dear PSWs and Homemakers,
Please be advised that your Employment Status has been updated for the 2026 Calendar year based on the Collective Agreement whereby an employee must meet the 1300 hours worked requirement to gain or regain their eligibility for benefits. The following updates have been made based on your employment status for the 2026 calendar year:
-
Employees who were full time in 2025 and have maintained their full time status in 2026 – there will be no interruption of benefit coverage.
-
For any employees who have been changed to ‘Full Time’ status for 2026 – Circle of Care has sent your information to SEIU Global Benefits so that you may be enrolled in the benefit program. Global Benefits will contact you directly for benefits enrolment. Global Benefits will be sending out an enrollment form and information to your home address – this will need to be completed and mailed back to Global Benefits in order for you to be successfully enrolled in the benefit program. Please note that there will be a delay in your initial benefit enrollment as Global Benefits requires 2 Payroll deductions from Circle of Care with the new changes.
-
Employees who were full time in 2025 and did not meet the 1300 hours worked requirement in the 2025 calendar year will be moved to part time status in 2026 and removed from the benefit program as per the Collective Agreement. Please note that your benefits ended on Jan 1, 2026. If you have any questions relating to this change, please directly contact Human Resources at HRDept@circleofcare.com.
All full-time employees are eligible for the Group Benefits plan under the Collective Agreement, and there is no ability to opt out of the program. Please refer to your Collective Agreement for additional details on the program, eligibility, and any employment status details.
If there are any question about the enrollment process, the documentation or about the Group Benefit Program in general – please contact Global Benefits at 416-635-6000.
You can also visit the Group Benefits Landing Page for more information.
Sincerely,
Human Resources
