Mental Health Services Available through Ontario Shores

As a result of COVID-19, health care workers may be at risk of developing increased symptoms of anxiety and depression. Ontario Shore’s Health Care Worker Assist Program has been established in order to provide rapid access to services for all health care workers free of charge and to provide skills and training to enhance resilience and reduce symptom burden.

In addition, Ontario Shores has also established the Ontario Structured Psychotherapy Program which provides evidence-based Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and related approached to Ontarians with depress, anxiety and anxiety related programs. This program does require a physician’s referral, but is accessible to all Ontarians.

COVID-19 Support for Parents and Online Programming for Kids

SickKids’ EarlyON Centre is running free online programs and support groups for parents in Toronto with children aged 0-6 years. Program are run virtually through Zoom during the month of February and programs focus on a variety of topics including: family activities, science activities, cooking classes, reading, math, sleep health, yoga and positive parenting. There are also a variety of online tools which offer engaging activities to challenge your kids and help them learn, grow and thrive. There’s also 38 ways you can use the Toronto Public Library from home.
