Champions of Care
“I want to thank our PSW Christian Sarmiento who helps my father a few times every week. He means a lot to my dad and our family. My father always looks forward to his visits and says Christian is a friend who takes genuine interest in him. We are all very grateful for the meaningful work he does.” – Client’s family member
“My PSW, Gigi Layson has been assisting me with my showering for several months now. At first, I felt embarrassed and humiliated about being naked in front of a stranger, as well as despondent that I could no longer do all of my extensive personal grooming. But, right from her first visit, Gigi immediately put me at ease with her professionalism. She’s always bubbly and cheerful, and has great attention to detail. I’m still depressed about needing her assistance, and losing my mobility, but Gigi has made this experience much easier to deal with, and I look forward to her visits. She is an absolute godsend, especially during this period of isolation that we’ve all had to endure for the past two years. She is an excellent representation of Circle of Care – a true gem, and deserves to be recognized as such! She consistently goes above the call of duty.” – Client
“I worked with Amin Rajani on Saturday when one of our PSWs, located in Scarborough, called and said that she would be unavailable in the evening to see her clients in a cluster. Amin immediately took initiative in place of the clients in the cluster. Usually, it is difficult to deal with the Scarborough area, but not for Amin. It was really magic!” – Yulia Ioffe
“It is our great gratitude that Yulia and Marina supply us with such great workers. Our PSW Odette Catolico has been such a hero, really assisting us when we needed it the most. Odette always works so well, she’s conscientious, kind, and friendly. One day, my husband was feeling awful, and our apartment was extremely messy. Odette took it upon herself to clean and sanitize the apartment, and for that we are extremely grateful.” – Client’s wife

COVID-19 Vaccinations: The Booster Shot
What is the booster shot, and why is it important?
A COVID booster shot is an additional dose of vaccine given after completion of the original (or primary) series. Generally, booster shots are administered after the immunity of initial dose(s) naturally starts to decline. The booster shot is designed to help people maintain and lengthen their level of protection against COVID-19 over time.
Am I eligible for the COVID-19 booster vaccine?
Yes. As a health care worker you are eligible to receive the booster roughly six months after receiving your second dose (168 days). (Note: If you are immunocompromised, you might be able to get a third dose eight weeks after your second dose.)
How to book:
Locations and timing for doses may vary by public health unit based on local planning and considerations. If you are in a specific eligibility group, you could get a COVID-19 booster dose appointment:
• through https://covid19.ontariohealth.ca/
• by calling the Provincial Vaccine Contact Centre at 1-833-943-3900
• directly through public health units that use their own booking systems
• select pharmacies
After receiving the booster shot:
If you have received a booster dose, you can download your updated vaccine certificate with official QR code or visit https://covid-19.ontario.ca/get-proof/ to learn how to get your enhanced vaccine certificate. Make sure to save and submit your proof of vaccination to HRDept@circleofcare.com. Once you have submitted your booster information, you will receive an additional 1 hour of paid time. This will be added to an upcoming pay with the code ‘vaccine payout’.
Get Some Sun Exposure!
Make time to get exposure to sunlight during the day. Sunlight contains vitamin D, and when we have lower levels of this vitamin this can lead to several problems including Seasonal Affective Disorder. When you are exposed to sunlight, it causes the release of endorphins which make you feel good and also increases brain productivity.
Caring Together
