Congratulations to this Week’s Champions of Care!

This program is designed to recognize employees who go above and beyond their day-to-day duties, and who exemplify Circle of Care’s values.

Note: New nominations will be posted on Mondays.

Nominations can be submitted in one of two ways:

  • Clients/Family Members: Compliments from clients or family members that are received through the call centre or a manager will be entered as a nomination provided there is enough detail to do so.
  • Managers: A manager can recognize someone for one of the following reasons:
  1. Recognizing that an employee has taken initiative to support, assist or lead a project or difficult task.
  2. The employee has made an extra effort was reflected in their overall performance.
  3. The person has actively demonstrated one of Circle of Care’s values.
  • Kira Shtilman goes above and beyond with her client, she goes after work hours to deliver meals, heat up meals and provide support with getting clients access to services and financial resources to purchase food and incontinence products. Great job Kira!” – Nurit Postelnik
  • “I want to thank Shmuel Estreicher. I recently had a fall. Shmuel helped assist me in getting a new walker, among other supports that  he has put in place to ensure my needs are met. Shmuel is an angel. He is so concerned about me, and is intelligent and professional. If more people would be like him, the world would be a better place.” – Holocaust Survivor Client
  • “A client from the Holocaust Survivor Services Program recently passed away. She was receiving palliative care for the last several months and Alia Pota did tremendous work coordinating support (with hospice, LHIN, doctors, family, and multiple service providers) in keeping her at home, where she wanted to be. A letter from the daughter to Alia stated: “My mother passed away peacefully this evening in hospital. Thank you for all your assistance the past year and a half to try and make her life more manageable & comfortable. You understood the person that she was and knew how to deal with her beautifully”. – Alison Kilbourn
  • Michelle Duklas’s excellence and hard work on behalf of Circle of Care has been outstanding over the last 3 months during the COVID-19 pandemic. Michelle has single-handedly maintained the Circle of Care website and social media content. She also continues to provide communication support to every department as we continue to evolve during these unprecedented times. In particular, Michelle has assisted with the update of the iRide website during COVID. She was also recently asked to create an additional booking request page SMT bookings, a partnership between Reena/CofC to take patients/clients to COVID+ test assessment centres. There were many revisions, and she handled each one with a smile and professionalism. Michelle’s responsiveness has been exemplary in relation to the MOW program when any client communication and labels were required. She has also helped to facilitate information on food security during COVID-19 in order to support staff in assisting their clients. In addition, Michelle has consistently supported the Social Work team in their initiatives, including the latest ‘plant a seed’ communication for Elder Abuse Awareness. Michelle has been incredibly collaborative and professional in all of our interactions and with requests, especially those that were time sensitive. She has been an invaluable team player and we truly appreciate all of her hard work! Thank you Michelle for all that you do and continue to do for us!!!” – Alison, Sonia & Maria
  • “Since Kai Svirida started working with us as HR representative, I always receive immediate responces to my e-mails and she always resolves all problems. Now we don’t need to be worried about problems coming up, we are in the “good hands.” Thank you Kai!” – Yulia Ioffe

In additional to her excellent customer service, Isabella has made herself flexible for the team and this past weekend she demonstrated that by working solely by herself without any hiccups and did a tremendous job. Her initiative and teamwork contributes to the success of this team and I am grateful to have her as part of our team. Excellent work!” – Sheonne Harris
  • “It gives me immense pride in saying that Shane Mclean has been such a tremendous help to myself and the CSC team. He is a true team player by being flexible with his work hours and open in his availability so that I can utilize his help when the team is short handed. This initiative and dedication has made my job a bit easier. Additionally, he always offers his support to the team when they need him and he does it willingly. Thanks Shane for all your initiatives and hard work that you bring to the team. Excellent Work!” – Sheonne Harris

  • “I want to nominate Rahul Vasisht and Aditya Matlani for their ongoing support during the last three months. There were many times when I called them with urgent issues or submitted Zendesk requests and they made themselves available. Their patience is remarkable. Thank you guys. Keep up the great work and support you give to all of us.” – Maria Campo
