Congratulations to the Champions of Care Nominees for July!
This program is designed to recognize employees who go above and beyond their day-to-day duties, and who exemplify Circle of Care’s values.
Nominations can be submitted in one of two ways:
- Clients/Family Members: Compliments from clients or family members that are received through the call centre or a manager will be entered as a nomination provided there is enough detail to do so.
- Managers: A manager can recognize someone for one of the following reasons:
- Recognizing that an employee has taken initiative to support, assist or lead a project or difficult task.
- The employee has made an extra effort was reflected in their overall performance.
- The person has actively demonstrated one of Circle of Care’s values.

- “Time and time again I’ve said this – I cannot imagine my mother having personal care services without PSW Chona Gill. Chona is extremely hard working, compassionate, and patient with my mom, and we are both very appreciative of everything that Chona does.” – Client’s daughter
- “PSW Joseph Tongol provides exceptional care to my father and treats him as though he was family. Every time he visits my father Joseph is always smiling and does everything he can to make my father smile too. Joseph even sang and danced in front of him to bring a smile to my father’s face as he battles dementia.” – Client’s daughter.
- “I wanted to express my appreciation to the PSW who works for me, Marie Jacobe. She is excellent at her job, and I wanted to thank her for everything she does. She works very hard, and I wanted to make sure that she’s acknowledged for her work. I appreciate her very much.” – Client
- “My PSW, Joseph Tongol, is always happy and positive each time he visits me. He ensures I take my medication and lifts my spirit up by encouraging me every day to always be strong.” – Client
- “PSW Joseph Tongol is such a friendly and happy person who’s so full of energy. He’s very understanding, compassionate, trustworthy, and honest. He also has great communication skills and is an excellent example of a good health-care worker!” – Client
- “PSW Ma Lorlie Almelia‘s level of dedication to her client is inspirational. She went above and beyond and collaborated with another PSW to determine whether a client was at risk. She took the initiative to support the client’s needs by volunteering to do two extra visits as well as conducting a late virtual home visit with me to determine if the client would be safe alone, while the client’s family was unexpectedly hospitalized.” – Tara Stickwood.
- “PSW Sonia Molina Canales went above and beyond to collaborate with another PSW and determined whether a client was at risk while her family was unexpectedly hospitalized. Sonia was very patient and answered my many questions. Her level of dedication to her client is inspirational.” – Tara Stickwood
- “PSW Joseph Tongol always goes above and beyond my expectations. He is very professional, patient, and caring to my father. Joseph cares for my father as if he was family. My father loves and looks forward to his visits each week and is always very happy to see Joseph. He is one of the most amazing human beings that I’ve ever met.” – Client’s son.
- “PSW Joseph Tongol is punctual, friendly, and knowledgeable about many tasks he performs. He’s courteous, reliable, and he’s always happy when he sees me.” – Client
- “Joseph Tongol is a PSW for both of my parents. He’s very good to my parents, has a good heart, and is a very nice person. He’s very knowledgeable, punctual, and full of positivity.” – Client’s son
- “I have neurofibromatosis, a condition that creates very painful small lumps over my body. Overcoming my body insecurity, I let PSW Eniye Onabanjo to help me shower. This was a painful process, but when I looked at my PSW’s face, I knew she was feeling more pain for me than I did. That’s when I knew my PSW really cared for me because she wanted to try and take my pain away.” – Client
- “PSW Charito Tabalan is an extremely attentive and responsible person. Charito pays attention to detail and is very caring. I’m extremely happy to have her care for my mom!” – Client’s daughter
