  • A 30% discount for those who join in the first 4 weeks (discount continues afterward)
  • Waived $59 enrollment fee

Health & Safety

Safety Spotlight – Importance of Immunizations

Our Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC) would like to share the following message:
Circle of Care has immunization requirements to prevent and control the spread of infectious diseases in the workplace, and in the community. It’s important for you to maintain immunity against vaccine-preventable diseases because it helps keep you and our clients safe.
You are required to have immunizations against the following diseases:
  • Mumps
  • Tetanus
  • Diphtheria
  • Measles (Rubeola)
  • German Measles (Rubella)
  • Hepatitis A and Hepatitis B
  • Chicken Pox
You are also required to complete Tuberculosis (TB) skin testing.
This information is collected through our Medical Assessment Packages during the onboarding process for new hires. You are required to complete an annual policy attestation to declare that you continue to be up-to-date with these required vaccinations.
If you are unsure of your vaccination status for the above listed diseases, we recommend you speak to your family doctor. Failure to comply with this policy, or completing a false policy attestation, could lead to progressive discipline.
For more information about immunization, please refer to our policy below.

Safety Spotlight – Slips, Trips and Falls

At Circle of Care, your safety and well-being are important. Preventing slips, trips, and falls (STF) is important to maintain a safe work environment.
Our STF Policy highlights:
  • Our commitment to providing a safe workplace and resources to prevent STF incidents.
  • Your responsibility to follow safe work practices and report any potential hazards you encounter.
Reach out to your Supervisor/Manager or Human Resources with any questions. Let’s work together to keep Circle of Care a safe space for everyone!

Be More Intentional: Meaningful May Calendar

The Meaningful May calendar is full of simple, thoughtful ideas to help you slow down and focus on what really matters, whether it’s reflecting on your values, doing something kind for someone else, or connecting with something that brings you joy.
If you’re looking for a gentle nudge to be more intentional this month, this might be a good place to start.

5 Quick Sunscreen Tips

1. Check the Expiry Date
Sunscreen goes bad. If it smells weird, feels gritty, or looks clumpy, toss it. Always check the expiry date.

2. Know How It Works
Sunscreen protects your skin by either blocking or absorbing UV rays. “Broad-spectrum” sunscreens do both and are best. Sensitive skin? Choose one with physical blockers like zinc oxide.

3. Understand the Label

SPF protects against UVB (sunburn). SPF 15 = 15 times longer in the sun without burning.

UVA causes tanning and deeper skin damage. Not always listed on the label, but broad-spectrum products cover both.

4. Use It Right
Sunscreen won’t work well if:

  • You sweat or swim without reapplying
  • You towel off
  • You don’t reapply every 2 hours
  • You don’t use enough (about a shot glass full)
  • You forget spots like ears, neck, hands, or feet
  • You skip it on cloudy days – UV rays still get through!

5. Pick What Works for You
Sunscreen comes as lotions, sprays, gels, sticks, and creams. Choose one that’s water-resistant, broad-spectrum, and at least SPF 30. The rest is up to what feels best on your skin.
