Fresh Produce Boxes Successfully Delivered Last Weekend
On Sunday March 20, Circle of Care staff and volunteers came together to deliver 1,900 boxes of fresh produce to our clients. The delivery of these boxes of fruits and vegetables took the efforts of 148 volunteers, 10 Circle of Care employees, and 1 dog (yes, we even had canine assistance!)
Two of the volunteers, Deb and Cole, expressed that they had a lovely day dropping off the produce boxes, which were sourced through FoodShare.
“One lady called me back on my cellphone and was so appreciative of the box,” shared Deb. “She asked me how she got on the list and was so thankful to have fresh fruits and veggies. That made our day.”
Another volunteer, Marilyn, shared that her deliveries were also well received. “The recipients were grateful and those who were able to engage in a hello at the door were wonderfully gracious,” she said.
We’re thankful to everyone who was able to assist with this important and wonderful initiative!

Champions of Care Nominations
Congratulations to this week’s Champions of Care nominees:
- “Thank you to Tara Stickwood and Mae Janer for your support with PSW digital recruitment events. You have both contributed your time and energy to help share a field perspective of the PSW role to our candidates and as a result they have a greater understanding of the day to day responsibilities and what to expect while providing care in the community. We appreciate your presence, engagement and knowledge.” – Jia Paulino & Allison Kujbida
- “We learned on Monday that 5 volunteer drivers had called in sick. This meant that clients did not receive their produce box deliveries on the weekend. The iRIDE team was asked to deliver 19 boxes on Monday. We did not have the resources to do this. We called in Rick Wertman on his day off, who was taking care of his mom who is ill. He told us to get all the boxes ready because he would be coming in right away. I thanked Rick from the bottom of my heart because he just made 19 people very happy. This is what Circle of Care is all about. Our hard working employees truly make a big difference. Thank you Rick, keep up the excellent work!” – Claudio Gasparini
Caring Together
Noah’s Special Connection
Each week, Noah, a young adult with special needs, gets into his family vehicle with one or both of his parents and deliver meals to older adults through our Meals on Wheels program.
“With Meals on Wheels, he has had the opportunity to continue improving his communication skills by going door to door, knocking on them, and connecting with older adults,” says Daryl, Noah’s father.
