Vulnerable Population Abuse Prevention

Abuse prevention education and activities help to ensure the safety and well-being of our clients and is an accreditation standard.

Circle of Care staff and volunteers have a responsibility to work with clients to identify suspected abuse and escalate as appropriate to the most responsible person who can investigate and work with the client to determine the most appropriate plan of action for abuse prevention.

Abuse can include physical, verbal, emotional, financial, sexual abuse or neglect.

What plans does Circle of Care have in place to support abuse prevention?

Vulnerable Population Abuse Prevention Policy

Our policy on abuse has recently been updated and given the new title of “Vulnerable Population Abuse Prevention” which is more inclusive of the varying ages of our clients. The policy also now has warning signs and examples of abuse to support in recognizing abuse.
