Double Dollars Referral! – Sept 28 Event
We are hosting an in-person hiring event on Wednesday, Sept 28th at the Heron Park Community Centre in Scarborough for Personal Support Workers living in the following postal codes: M1E, M1C, or M1B.
Refer a friend who lives or prefers to work in these postal codes to the event and receive a double dollars referral bonus of $500 if successfully hired upon completion of probationary period!
Please send your referrals to referrals@circleofcare.com by September 21.

Each year we celebrate and highlight the Years of Service milestones. This year, 170 people reached an important milestone with Circle of Care. Thank you for your years of dedication, hard work, and commitment!

Applause: A How-To Guide
To submit a nomination through Applause, log into the platform, and recognize an employee. You will be prompted to choose a value to pair your recognition with, and this will be used when selecting a shortlist of nominees for our annual awards. Learn more by watching the video above!
CPR Sessions available in September – North York Location
Circle of Care requires that all PSWs and Homemakers be certified with valid and current CPR training.
We have an upcoming session running in North York on September 21st.
Important reminders – please read:
- Please arrive at the training session 15 minutes before the class begins.
- Gloves and surgical mask will be required for the duration of the class.
- After you have booked your appointment, please speak to your Service Coordinator if you need any scheduling arrangements and have clients that you will need to be booked off from to attend the CPR training. Please try to book a date/time where you do not have client visits scheduled.
- Your schedule will be blocked as ‘unavailable’ for you to attend the session. You do not need to use your phone to sign into the training.
- You will be paid a total of 4 hours for the training – this will be added to your schedule 1-2 weeks after the session has been completed and you will receive payment. The code will appear on your paystub as ‘Miscellaneous’
- You may not be able to access the login link via the PSW mobile phones, and you may need to access the link using your personal phone or computer.
- All bookings/cancellations must be managed through the online portal. You will receive a confirmation email/text notification and will also receive a session reminder.

Wellness at Work Resources
The Wellness at Work landing page highlights the various programs and resources available to all employees, and covers topics related to mental health, physical activity, injury prevention, financial wellness, and vehicle safety.
- Perkopolis Benefits Program – offers exclusive discounts on tickets, hotels, and other services.
- North York Toronto Health Partners (NYTHP) – Your Wellness Matters – in the September 2022 newsletter, you will find upcoming wellness events throughout the month of September, including upcoming webinars, Q&A with a personal trainer, Self Care September, healthy recipes, and cooking mini-series.
- Wellness Together Canada – free and accessible mental health support for all Canadians, with a special focus on resources and support for front line health care workers. To access resources and support, create an account and take an initial assessment; you will then be provided with tailored mental health support and resources.
Exercises for a health back and injury prevention – the key to prevention back injury and pain involved the overall conditioning of the body and the cardiovascular system. This resources highlights exercises that are effective in prevention back injuries.
Safe Driving Tips – when commuting from client to client in the community, it is important to keep these tips top of mind.
