Preventing Bullying at Work
Work relationships are important for how you feel about your job. When people are not polite and respectful, it can make you feel tired, not want to work, and even cause health problems.
Everyone at Circle of Care must follow our policy against bullying. We need to make sure we treat each other with respect and politeness.
Here’s what you can do to treat others well:
- Use kind and respectful words
- Make sure everyone follows the rules
- Support your coworkers
- Talk to your supervisor if you have any worries or ideas
Stay Safe: Simple Steps for COVID-19 Prevention at Work
Stay on guard against COVID-19 and respiratory illnesses. Follow these steps:
- Wash your hands regularly.
- Ensure you feel well before starting your shift.
- Stay home if unwell or showing symptoms.
- If symptomatic, stay home for 24-48 hours, take a rapid test, and report results.
- Report a positive COVID-19 test to the office.
- Follow PPE protocol: wear masks for all clients.
- Monitor clients for new symptoms, report to CSS, and use additional PPE when needed (gloves, eye protection, isolation gown). Stay safe!
Beyond Silence: e-Mental Health program
Don’t forget to check-out the ‘Beyond Silence’ app! This is a free and confidential mental health support program to our PSWs and Homemakers. Through the app, you can access resources to support your mental well-being, and you are able to speak with a trained Peer Support Provider. You can access the app on your Circle of Care work phone, and on your personal device.
ACCESS CODE: CCYP527J8

We also have a DEI e-learning catalog in Dayforce, and employees are able to self-enroll in these courses.
Unjudge Someone – The Human Library Experience
Join us for the Human Library, a virtual DEI event where you can challenge stereotypes and prejudices through dialogue. This unique experience creates a safe space for conversation between “books,” who openly share their diverse backgrounds and experiences, and “readers,” who engage in enriching and respectful conversations.
Date: March 5th
Time: 9am – 11am
Please note this is an interactive experience, and participants are expected to stay for the full session. As a reader, you’ll be assigned to read 2-3 ‘Books’ in groups of 6-10 people.

February 28 is Pink Shirt Day
February 28 is Anti-Bullying Day, also known as Pink Shirt Day.
Bullying is when someone hurts another person on purpose, especially if they think that person is weaker. It can cause a lot of pain that lasts a long time and might happen many times. Bullying can lead to depression, anxiety, and feeling bad about yourself. It can happen in different ways, like using mean words, hurting someone physically, leaving them out, or bullying online.
Here’s what you can do:
- Get support. Talk to a colleague, friend, or family member who will support you. Work together to speak out against bullying and harassment.
- Stand up for someone who is being bullied, whether in person or online. Let them know they don’t deserve to be treated that way. Don’t join in or encourage bullying.
- Learn about our anti-bullying policy. Understand the different types of bullying and how to recognize when someone might be bullied.
