Recognizing & Reporting Abuse
Circle of Care would like to remind you:
- If you are reporting abuse, you must report it LIVE to the call center. Abuse can be physical, sexual, mental, emotional, verbal, or financial. Do not leave voicemails or send these types of messages through the app, you must speak to someone LIVE on the phone.
- If you are concerned about something that you see in a client’s home, or things that the client or caregiver tells you about the care the client receives, you should report this to the call center.
- Take a minute to review our recently updated Vulnerable Population Abuse Prevention Policy . (We used to call this policy the Elder Abuse Policy, but it has been renamed to include other groups of people who are not elderly).
- Are you unsure about whether something you saw or experienced is abuse? Always report LIVE to the call center, even if you’re not sure if the event is abuse or neglect. And you can review the content we have on the PSW Portal regarding Client Abuse to learn more by clicking the button below.

International Day of Pink
April 12 is Day of Pink – also known as International Day of Pink. It’s a day to fight against homophobic and transphobic bullying and discrimination.
This year’s theme is all about courage. Let’s all have the courage to stand against homophobic and transphobic bullying and discrimination
Yom HaShoah
Yom HaShoah, also known as Holocaust Remembrance Day, is a day to commemorate all those who perished in the Holocaust. As we mark this day, we honour the lives that were lost, and work to educate ourselves and others to help prevent future genocides.
Some of our clients who are Holocaust survivors have spoken about their experiences with our staff members, and these stories are shared in the video above. Learn more by clicking the video above.
Advance Care Planning Day
April 16 is Advance Care Planning Day. It’s a day where we spotlight the importance of planning your future healthcare needs, and identify who would be best to make these healthcare decisions for you.
